The British player advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events of the year because of a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate ahead of launching next year's training.

These plans will involve coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering in 2026.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved 28 victories during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
