Performer Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Views After Narrating Disputed Coronavirus Feature

The acclaimed actor has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that questions the efficacy of immunizations and praises ex- government figure the political figure.

The Feature's Contentious Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book published by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for assertions that Covid was caused by a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The book's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone media personality the Infowars host. Heckenlively took to social media praising Neeson's role in the project.

A Firm Denial

The team of Liam Neeson have released a statement strongly denying suggestions that he supports anti-vax beliefs.

"We all recognize that unethical practices can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be conflated with being against vaccines," the statement explains. "He has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement noted that the performer had no hand in the project's narrative and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Central Themes Featured in the Film

As presented, the script read by Neeson features several strong claims:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
  • It declares that "research has become deeply politicized."
  • Kennedy is shown claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The narration takes aim at pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Context and Current Issues

It also references a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the topic of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Last month, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to alter its official position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the global health body reiterating no evidence has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Differing from the documentary's tone, Neeson has in the past voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."

The film concludes with Neeson's narration saying, "This isn't the end of our story. It is the dawn of a different phase."
