Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match after voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have remained strong in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
