Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player the Athlete

The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Instagram

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Player's Prior Legal Issues

Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
