On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and information recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported child disappearance cases and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another voicemail, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Is that not important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I only wish to know," the message continued.

The tribunal was advised that via emails, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a effort to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with the police force who gathered the information, told the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I won't give up and I will prove my point."

"We need to take action," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their residence, the defendant dispatched a message which expressed: "We find ourselves sitting outside the McCanns' residence with our lights out like investigators. I had hoped to accomplish this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
