Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative stated in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
